No. A Gem arrives as a link they can open on any phone or computer. On a tablet you set it up once with a code — no password, nothing for them to remember, nothing for them to install.
Nothing buzzes at them. There is no alert and no email — a Gem waits until the next time they open MemoriGems. That is deliberate: a device that pings at someone with memory loss creates more confusion than it solves.
That is often the moment MemoriGems is for. Names and faces can go before voices do — families tell us the sound of someone familiar lands when a photograph on its own does not. It does not fix anything. It gives you something to offer on a day when you have run out of things to say.
They can send a heart, and you will see it on their page. Hearts are deliberately the only thing — it is the one gesture that stays easy when a lot of other things get hard.
Only the people in their circle, and anyone you have sent a Connection Snapshot link to. Both are listed on their page, and both can be changed or switched off at any time.
When a Gem is played and when a heart is sent — so you can see whether your Gems are landing. Nothing is recorded about what anyone says or does otherwise, and none of it is shared outside your family.
Yes. At the end of the beta we prepare a folder of everything — the audio and photos as real files, with a page that plays them on any computer, with no account and no internet. Yours, for as long as you keep it.
It was built for memory change, and that is where it is being tested first. But nothing in it is only for that — a voice worth keeping is a voice worth keeping, whether the distance is illness, miles, or time.
Nothing during the founding families pilot. What it costs afterwards has not been decided yet — and we would rather tell you that than put up a number we are not ready to stand behind. Founding families will hear it from us first.
